Roger Bannister

Roger Bannister

1.The excellence that was achieved was that he was the first person to complete a mile in under 4 minutes he is also a physician. He also became a distinguished neurologist.

2.Both of these goals were achieved by Roger practicing and studying incredibly hard on both of his goals. He considers his greatest achievement to be the contributions he made to medicine.

3.Technology could have helped this by allowing him with an easier way to study things that would have helped his career.

Reflection:I think that what he accomplished both athletically and in medicine are things that people in the future can look back to and say wow what a guy for being able to do all that he did.

Computer Science Innovations

Quantum Teleportation

A. The innovation is that scientist have figured out a way to teleport laser pulses over several miles city network of fiber optics.

B.It has the power to impact everybody since this can lead to hack proof networks that will make a lot of people feel safer.

C.It has the ability to solve the problem that many people fear which is the lack of safety be creating a network were you can't be hacked.

D.I think that this innovation is something that would never happen because it seems that we are getting closer and closer to what si-fi show depict and see that happen in real time is a surreal feeling.

Mikaele Oloa

Mikaele Oloa

1.The excellence that was achieved was that Mikaele is the youngest person to compete in the World Fire Knife Dance Championship where he won it in 2005 and 2006 at the age of 15.

2.This excellence was achieved by Mikaele training since he was 5 with his father since he was 5 he is also known to be able to dance with 4 knifes at once.

3.Technology impacted this achievement because it allowed for Mikaele to be seen all over the world because of his skill.

5.Reflection:I think that this is something very awesome because being able to dance with four knifes that are on fire and not burn your self is something that is rare but to also win a World Championship two years in a row is something to be even more proud about. To see him dance with those knifes is something to see because you see him do these things that too many people seem out of this world and for him to do them so easily just makes you think what am I doing wrong in my life. The way he moved with them was something to see because his movements where fluent and as far as I know there were no errors but then again he did train since he was 5 to do acts like this in front of a crowd.

Computer Science Innovations

Computer Science Innovations

A.The innovation I choose was one of being able to detect emotions with the use of wireless signals this technology works by using a EQ-Radio which is device that can detect a persons emotions with the use wireless signals by measuring the subtle changes in breathing and heart rhythms and the EQ-Radio has a 87% accuracy of detection emotions.

B.While now the innovation cant really impact anyone if the technology continues to improve this innovation has the possibility of being able to detect if a user has depression or anxiety. It can also be used to tell smart homes information about your mood and have it adjust accordingly.

C.It has the possibility to detect when a person has depression or anxiety it also has the ability to help us reduce our stress.

D.What I think about this innovation is that it is a really good thing because everybody in the world has a use for it and that it can be used by everyone for different purposes like telling if your child is mad or sad or being able to tell you what your partner is feeling.

Nathan Sawaya

Nathan Sawaya

1.The excellence achieved was that he is the only person recognized as a LEGO Master Builder and a LEGO Certified Professional.

2.This excellence was achieved by him leaving his job as a attorney by becoming a full time LEGO artist.

3.This excellence was helped by technology because it helped him get exposure on a grand scale.

5.Reflection:I think that this is an awesome thing because seeing that a man was able to make a career out of something that many people would think is stupid gives me hope for my dream career and it shows me that no matter how many people think that my future career is stupid I am still hopeful.

Computer Science Innovations

Computer Science Innovations

Nanotechnology

1.Nanotechnology focuses on engineering at the “nanoscale,” one to 100 nanometers. The tools needed to see individual atoms were not available until 1981, so in many ways, this science parallels the computing revolution that facilitated it. Researchers have discovered that materials at the nanoscale can have unexpected and novel properties, resulting in a wealth of breakthroughs.

2.It has the possibility to impact multiple people because with this technology we can find treatments to different diseases.

3.It can solve many problems like finding new treatments for cures where we might not have treatments for.

4.I think that this innovation will be one of the most impact full innovations ever with all of the possibilities that this can achieve.

Blown To Bits Ch.3

Blown To Bits Ch.3

In this chapter of Blown to bits we learn that technology is a wonderful and powerful tool. We have been using technology for communicating to people who are almost half away or on the other side of the planet from us. We use the Internet to send a message in variety of forms, whether it be a pdf file, a video file, a img, or a document. However, what you receive doesn’t necessarily be the unmodified version. Thanks to technology, we are able to “undo” the edits of documents that have been made before sending it to you. There are a variety of ways we can possibly check for these signs. We can check the file’s name, it’s content and other things.

Alex Hattori

Alex Hattori

Alex Hattori is an American YoYo player who is in 3A he was sponsored by YoYoJam until the middle of 2014.His excellence was that he won multiply YoYo tournaments. This was achieved by him learning how to use a YoYo by multiply groups. This excellence was affected by technology because it allowed him to be seen all over the world.

Reflection:While I don't care about the YoYo scene I find this excellence to be something to be proud of because he is showing that he is a good YoYo user at such a young age. From watching him preform I learned that if I put as much effort as he put into his YoYo skills I can be as good as him in a different subject.I also learned that anything no matter how small can look awesome.

Blown To Bits Ch.2

Blow To Bits Ch.2

This chapter talks about the dangers of sharing private information on computers. It can lead to identity theft, stealing money from credits and many other things. Also they talk about how tracking devices can help you do things you could never imagine doing or figuring out.Not only that but by using tracking devices it can lead you to finding information about the government and other jobs as well. What mostly stood out to me was that using simple things like tracking devices to find out a lot of information about government things.

Computer Science Innovations

Computer Science Innovations

The computer science innovation that I chose was genome editing in this scientist in China created a pair of monkeys that had specific genetic mutations by using a new method of DNA engineering called CRISPR. This allow scientist to modify fertilized eggs. This can impact everybody because this is gonna allow scientist to further study diseases.I think that this innovation has the ability to change the world for the better because it can allow many diseases to be studied and to be cured which can allow the medical world to further increase in its ability to cure diseases.

Carl and Margaret Karcher

Carl and Margaret Karcher

1.The excellence that they achieved was that they founded a successful fast place called Carl's Jr. in 1945.
2.This excellence was achieved by both of them first starting there hot dog stand business which then led to them creating there first Drive-in restaurant.
3.Technology would have impacted this experience because they could have achieved a bigger following with this wider way of advertising.

Reflection:This excellence was a great one because it created a way for people who are to busy to be able to buy food without having to waste more time making it themselves.I learned that if I but hard work into everything I do there is nothing that I cannot achieve.

Computer Science Innovations

Computer Science Innovations

The innovation that I will talk about is about the oculus rift this product was made so that users can feel as though they are in the game by following your movement in real time it was created by a man with no engineering education called Palmer Luckey he created his first prototype at the age of 16.This innovation has the ability to impact everybody since people can create games that are based off real life jobs it can also help people get over there fears. It also has the ability to teach people on how to save people in dangerous.I think that this innovation has the power to change the world with its ability to allow its users to experience everything that the game has to offer.
